Solicitors for Tenants
In February 2019, new legislation came into effect that will impact the rights of tenants and their rental agreements, including the planned abolishment of some letting fees which will now be prohibited from June 2019. Any fees listed as permitted payments will still be payable by tenants, such as rent, deposits, bills and costs incurred from making changes to a tenancy agreement (or bringing it to an end).
However, caps may be introduced to some permitted payments which will make it more difficult for landlords and agents to charge more than is legally specified for holding deposits or changes made to your agreement. If you're a landlord view our solicitors for landlords page
